the waiting game

I found part of a dog tooth on the floor the other day. It was Ralphie’s, of course. Enough was broken off so that the pulp was exposed so I called the vet to find out how they want to handle this since he has to be sedated for any procedure. The receptionist had to check with the vet and she just called me back. He’s been put on the surgery waitlist because he will need to be under general anesthesia to be examined. When he’s sedated for his vet appointments, he’s not totally out and has to be muzzled. So, that’s why that won’t work. It doesn’t seem to be bothering him at the moment, so I need to keep an eye on it. Otherwise, they’re going to call me back to schedule a time to pull the tooth. It probably won’t be for a month or so. Stay tuned for pupdates.
