I really liked this book! It was written by Jean Hanff Korelitz, who wrote the book the HBO Series The Undoing was based on. Anyway, I thought the book was a little slow at the beginning, but it had an interesting premise (an author writes a best selling novel, the plot of which is based on a deceased individual’s idea for a novel, and then some anonymous person accuses him of plagiarism). I didn’t know there was goinog to be a huge plot twist, so I didn’t see that coming until I was right on top of it. Now that I know about it, I feel like I should have figured it out earlier. But, it’s kind of nice to be surprised for a change.
I especially liked how the author interspersed chapters of the “plagarized” novel within the novel. Very clever.
My rating: 4/5
