I was painting the downstairs bathroom this afternoon when I heard Ralphie barking his “urgent” bark (anyone who has dogs knows what I mean–they have different barks for different situations). I went upstairs to see what was going on and the front door was open and Tilly was gone. The door must not have latched after I brought the dogs in from their walk and the wind must have blown it open. I figured she couldn’t have gotten far, so I grabbed my coat and keys and was planning on driving around the neighborhood to look for her. When I got to the end of the sidewalk, I saw her in the neighbor’s driveway, so I called her over and that was that. Good thing Ralphie was on duty. Any other dog I’ve owned in the past would have run right out the door, but he was seriously upset about the situation. Good dog!
