I was looking for something new to watch and found a bunch of classic sitcoms on Hulu. I started watching Golden Girls last week. I watched it when it was originally on, way back when. It’s actually pretty funny. I’ve been finding that older sitcoms are funnier than the new stuff.
I was wondering just how old the golden girls were when the show started, so I looked it up. I was aghast to find out that Rue McClanahan (who played Blanche) was my current age when the show started. Seriously.
This reboot’s plot took elements from the original rather than remaking it. It starred Elisabeth Moss, whose character left an abusive relationship with a wealthy scientist, and then begins to be stalked by an invisible man. The effects were top notch–I really liked them! Overall, it was a really great story, but the subplot with the dog made no sense and took away from the movie, in my opinion.
One thing is for sure, you don’t want to mess with any of Elisabeth Moss’s characters.

I had a couple of outlets in the living room that needed to be replaced (the piece of plastic by the ground plug was chipped). Since I was going to be doing electric work, I decided to replace some of the regular outlets throughout the house with the ones having a USB port. I also ended up replacing a few outlets in Jake’s room (they looked a little worse for the wear). I did all of the work today. This was my first project dealing with electricity, so if you hear of a house fire in Johnstown Saturday night, you’ll know where that came from. Seriously, though, there really isn’t anything difficult about replacing an outlet, so hopefully I did everything correctly (my outlet tester said that I did). The new outlets look good and the USB outlets are going to be convenient–I may replace even more in the future. We’ll see how it goes.
I got a long overdue haircut this afternoon (only my 2nd one since the pandemic started–the last one was in September). I really should have gone in November, but things went haywire pretty quickly and I didn’t feel comfortable going out under those conditions (for something non-essential like a haircut). But things have leveled off again, so I figured I better get it cut before the covid variant (potentially) arrives in March. I got a few inches chopped off so my hair is under control once again. I do kind of like waiting numerous months between haircuts (previously, I went about every other month), so maybe this will be my new thing. Or not.
This was a movie about a man and woman who met on a train in Europe and hit it off. The man convinced the woman to spend a day with him in Vienna before he had to catch a plane back to America. Pretentiousness ensued.
That’s the last time I take a movie recommendation from the youngest son from Little Fires Everywhere.
