Me, Jake, Amelia, and the dogs stayed at a cabin in Wyalusing last week. There wasn’t much going on there, but we went out a few times. One afternoon we checked out Wyalusing Rocks and the Marie Antoinette Lookout. Another afternoon, we went to Grovedale Winery, which was fun. Tilly played in the pond, and subsequently, got a lot of baths. Another relaxing vacation!
the hunting party
This was a whodunit between a group of friends staying at a swanky hunting lodge over the New Year’s holiday. All of the characters were so unlikable that I couldn’t decide who I wanted the victim to be. It’s just a shame there was only one. That said, it was well written and implemented a non-linear timeline, which I like.

father’s day
Jake spent Father’s Day at Brian’s, but the rest of the crew went to The Brick on Front in Cresson for dinner. I’ve been wanting to go there for a while and it was quite good!
projects inside and out
Ever since Tilly moved in, the dog area has been a mess. Prior to her arrival, I got some grass growing in the area after having it mulched for a number of years, but she put an end to that–she likes to scratch and dig. And, it’s difficult to get grass growing in that area, anyway, because it’s really shady. I had some extra pavers, so I put in a short sidewalk from the porch. And, I found this inexpensive fencing on Wayfair that goes into the ground with stakes, so I put that along the front of the dog area to keep the destruction limited to the side yard. As a bonus, it keeps Tilly out of the hedges, where she also likes to dig. I’ve decided to put some decorative rocks along the paver sidewalk and then re-mulch the rest of the area–this part still needs to be done. But, it’s looking better already.
On a different topic, we installed some LED strip lighting at the office and had extra so I purchased the power supply and other stuff that was needed and Jake installed under the cabinet lighting in my kitchen. It looks awesome! I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, so it’s good to get it crossed off the list.
the shadows
This was another book from Alex North. I didn’t like it as much as the other one I read by him, but it was still pretty good. I was expecting a supernatural theme, but my expectations were not met. It was more like a whodunit.
I loved the cover. Very clever.
