8 mile

Brian was at a gun thing most of the weekend, so Jake and I decided to watch a movie on Saturday night. He likes hip-hop and wanted to see Eminem’s 8 Mile. Brian and I caught that movie years ago (at the Westwood Plaza Theatre) when it was originally released. Jake really enjoyed it. I thought it held up well in its 2nd viewing.

My rating: 3/5

tea party

Not the political group, but actual tea. Every year the Portage Historical Society (of which my mother is a member) hosts a tea party fundraiser. I don’t go every year, but I try to go when I can. This year, as in a previous year, my friend Carol attended with me. As always, it was great to see Carol (even if it was a little difficult to converse given that we were seated on opposite sides of the table).

easter 2014

Yesterday was spent at my parents’ house with an assortment of relatives. It was a nice afternoon and the weather was decent, too. Of course, it’s calling for snow again tomorrow night–what’s with Tuesdays and snow? The weather better get nice soon, or else!

picasso

We’re a little behind with our painting project. I hoped to be done last month, then I changed it to April, but all hope is lost. We painted the living room, dining room and foyer ceilings yesterday, but we still have the walls to do in those rooms and our bedroom. So, it’s not going to get done this month for sure. Maybe next? Probably not.

more, please

What a beautiful weekend filled with awesome activities. Friday night, we bottled two batches of wine. I covered yesterday in this post. As for today: this morning, I finished knitting Jake’s hat; I got in some more gardening (my hope is to get the pond opened up tomorrow, so I was cleaning leaves and whatnot from around that area); Brian got my motorcycle back in running order (and we took a spin around the block on it–his bike’s still in the shed); and I’m currently preparing to bottle a batch of limoncello. Whew!
