You know how I feel about reading books after watching the movie…nevertheless, this was a pretty engrossing read. Since it hasn’t been that long since I’ve watched the movie, I was able to recall a few things from the plot and they followed each other pretty closely. Much like the movie, I enjoyed the book. I wanted to keep reading it, so that says something. And, I’m done right in time for Christmas, where I’ll hopefully get some new books to read (hint, hint).

After troubleshooting my refrigerator issues and finding that it was not anything simple, I opted to get a new fridge instead of having mine fixed. The fridge was 19 years old, so putting money into it didn’t seem like a good idea. While I was at Krisay’s, I ended up getting a new washer, too. They were having a warranty special on Speed Queen washers (which are commercial grade-ish) that extended the warranty to 10 years! Also, I got a partial credit for the service call on my washer and I would save a delivery fee by having both appliances delivered at the same time. So, it seemed like a good idea because we all know that the washer was going to need to be replaced soon anyway.
Both appliances were delivered today. The new fridge is awesome. I really like it. I got almost everything moved into it. It seems like it has more room than my old one. Maybe it’s just a perception thing since it’s a French door model and my old one was a side-by-side. The washer had two dents in the front panel. Can you believe it? They installed it but are ordering a new panel so they’ll have to come back to install that. I didn’t have to wash anything today, so I can’t comment on it further.
I’m not happy to have spent all of that money, especially with everything that’s been going on this year, but hopefully this will be it for a while.
I watched this last night on Hulu. It was ok, but not the funniest movie I’ve ever seen. It was a story about a pair of high school age goody two shoes who never did anything fun. And the night before graduation, they found out that all of the other students (who presumably had a bunch of fun) got into the same caliber schools. So, they decide to have an evening of fun, which was predictable.

Fred Rogers was the real deal and this was an interesting take on his story. The movie was about how he changed the life of a cynical journalist who was tasked with writing an article on him. It was based on a true story. How much of it was fabricated, I don’t know, but it really was a nice movie.

The fix lasted about three weeks, but the washer threw the same error code again over the weekend. Luckily it was at the end of the last load of laundry, so it didn’t cause an inconvenience. Krisay’s sent someone over today to look at it, but it (of course) didn’t error while they were here. And, the repairman said that the only thing they can do is replace the board. So, I guess I’ll see how long I can get it to last before I get a new one.
And to top things off, it’s currently 40 degrees in my kitchen freezer.
