Jake has been wanting to play guitar for a while now, but his interest increased last weekend, when he scarfed my acoustic guitar from downstairs and strummed on it all evening.
Our plan was to have him take piano lessons first so he could learn all of the basics about music, but the place down the road where we wanted to take him isn’t taking any new piano students at this time. They are taking guitar students, though, so he’ll be starting lessons in a week or two. His ultimate goal is to play electric guitar, but we’re having him start with acoustic so he can learn some of the theory behind playing. And, if the piano teacher ever gets another slot, he’ll be taking some piano lessons as well.
This is so much nicer than playing sports.
