beautiful weekend

Can you believe this weather? I guess climate change isn’t all bad. At least not in PA (yet). The weather was too nice to stay home, but I had a lot to do, so I compromised and went somewhere close. I took Tilly to Buttermilk Falls on Saturday. It’s not much of a hike, but I got to enjoy the fall foliage on the drive and at the park. I figured there would be a lot of people there (and there were) so I left Ralphie at home. I can’t deal with the two of them when there’s a lot of activity going on (and other dogs). Tilly was fine on her own, though.

Today, I took them both to Sandyvale. Usually, there are other dogs there, but we can typically stay far enough away from them that it’s not a problem. I was surprised that more people weren’t there today, but I’ll take it. We did a loop around the park and there was so much to sniff. The dogs enjoyed it.

Other than that, I did a bunch of stuff around the house and some things outside. I had to cut the grass again, for one thing. I thought I was done with that, but thanks to the rain followed by some nice weather, the grass continues to grow.

I’ve been trying to clean up the garage for about the past 5 years and I got things down to one pile of lumber that Brian did not want. I’ve been trying to cut it up for firewood, but that wasn’t getting me anywhere, so I listed it on Facebook Marketplace for a very attractive price today and got a ton of responses. One guy stopped by this evening and took half of it home (it’s all that would fit in his truck). He’s coming tomorrow for the other half. I guess I could have charged more, but my goal was to get rid of it. So, mission accomplished.

I thought I was going to be spending the Saturdays of this month (or, at the very least, last Saturday) with the guy I met earlier in the month, but that hasn’t happened. I’m kind of disappointed, but am beyond having any expectations at this point, so I can’t say I’m surprised. We were supposed to do something last weekend, but his work schedule changed so he was not able to. This weekend, he didn’t mention doing anything, but he did say that his daughter was moving out, so I’ll assume that happened. I kind of checked out after last weekend, but he continues to text occasionally. I wouldn’t rule out seeing him again, but I’m not going to put any further effort into it.
