Jacob is not a picky eater. I make quite a variety of foods. Some he likes, some he doesn’t like, but I’ve never seen him eat with as much gusto as he did last night when Brian made lawsagna. What is this “lawsagna”, you might ask? Well, it’s Brian’s mother’s bastardized version of the Italian classic. Basically, all you do is brown up some onions and ground beef and then add a jar of spaghetti sauce to the pan. In between layers of cooked lasagna noodles, layer velveeta cheese and shredded mozzarella, along with the sauce mixture. Cook at 350 for 45 minutes, and you have lawsagna!
I’ll admit, when I first heard of this recipe, I was skeptical, but it actually tastes pretty good. My mother, who is a bona fide Italian, likes it as well. I have no problems eating it, however, out of respect to my Italian heritage, I do not make the dish. Jake, being only 25% Italian, and over 50% English, doesn’t have such qualms.
