impromptu outing

Last night, I was getting settled in for the evening when I received a text from one of my friends asking if I wanted to go out for a drink. I didn’t really want to. I’m not much for spontaneity, and I was already in my pajamas, but I didn’t have a good excuse to stay in, so I went. Plus, it has been a while since I’ve done something social, which was another factor. It was rough finding a place that was open, though. It’s crazy how all the bars/restaurants are still closing early (this phenomenon first started during COVID). But The Fifth came to the rescue. They were open until 2 AM, and we nearly closed the bar. I got home around 1:30, and there was only one person left in the bar when we walked out. We got there around 10, and it was completely packed at that point. It was great catching up in person, but hopefully, the next time we get together, it will be at an earlier hour!
