Yesterday, another successful adult was launched into the world. Jake moved to southern Virginia to be with his girlfriend, who is going to veterinary school down there. I helped him get packed this week and Brian hauled the U-Haul trailer down there with his truck yesterday. It was a sad day. I didn’t care so much that he was moving out, because that’s what you’re supposed to do when you’re an adult, I just wish he wasn’t so far away (6-ish hours). But, I guess I’ll get to see him frequently enough. He’s going to be coming in once a quarter to work in the office for a week. And, he’ll be home for the major holidays, too. Plus, I’m planning on visiting once or twice a year. My only hope is that they end up a little closer to home after she graduates, but who knows what will happen there?
