and then there was light

A while back, we replaced one of the ceiling fans with a fan that had integrated LED lighting–a fact that I did not realize until it stopped working. The other week, the lights started to flicker, so I took the cover off to change the bulb, and that’s when I saw the LED panel. I looked for a replacement part online, but it was an Emerson fan and they went out of business a while ago, so no parts were to be found.

Jake found a comparable LED panel, which I ordered last week and installed last night. It took a bit of retrofitting, but it works great and, best of all, I didn’t have to replace the entire fan, like I initially thought I would have to do.

I guess the moral of this story is to not buy anything with integrated LED lighting.
