Jake had his final appointment with the orthopedic surgeon yesterday evening. Everything looks good with his knee. He still has some restrictions, but those will be gradually lifted over time, so that is good news.
In other doctor news, Jake has been sick since late last week. We thought it was just a cold, but it turned out that he had strep throat. We went to iCare on Monday morning (after he was sent home from school) and got some antibiotics. Laurel Peds couldn’t fit him in until later in the afternoon and I didn’t want to wait that long for something as straightforward as this. Well, he had a number of adverse reactions to the antibiotic (which is odd because I’m quite sure he’s taken it before), so we had to get something different prescribed. This time we went through Laurel Peds, so we made a trip there yesterday afternoon. That said, he was feeling a lot better by last night and went to school today, so things are looking up there, too.
